Soulfat release new CD
Soulfat has been performing since 2007. The band is
comprised of brothers Christophe and Olivier, their Uncle Krish and lifelong friend Daniel Krantz. Bringing together their personalized styles they form a unique sound which explores a range of musical genres.

Enregistrement, le mixage et le matriçage d'un démo de quatre nouvelles chansons.

BIO : les frères Florent et Vincent Sivell sont vraiment le reflet de leur génération; premièrement, ils ont grandi à une époque où le métissage des styles faisait partie intégrante de la démarche artistique de tout bon créateur qui se respecte. D'autre part, la famille Sivell a vécu en France, au Moyen Orient, en Ontario pour finalement s'établir au Québec, lieu où le duo Oparleur a vu le jour en 2006. Après s'être produit pendant trois ans à Montréal et un peu partout au Québec, dont plusieurs festivals comme le Festival en Chansons de Petite Vallée.

Agir par l'imaginaire (2009)
Agir par le SON à la Maison Tanguay (Automne 2009);
Quatre femmes incarcérées à l’établissement de détention provincial, la Maison Tanguay, ainsi qu’un artiste musicien/ingénieur de son, Andrew Harder, ont étroitement travaillé plus de 15 heures à la réalisation d’une œuvre audio collective. Les femmes ont, durant 2 semaines, compilé individuellement une multitude de sons qui les entourent et ponctuent leur quotidien « entre les murs ». Les participantes ont employé différentes méthodes dans leur « chasse » aux sons. Certaines ont laissé rouler l’appareil librement pour ensuite identifier tous les sons enregistrés, d’autres ont cherché la collaboration de leurs co-détenues pour construire des mises en scène de situations vécues en prison. Mais elles ont toutes travaillé avec un objectif commun : communiquer au public l’inhumanité de la prison qui enferme pourtant des humains, tous aussi imparfaits que nous, vous et elles.

Deborah Margo et Devora Neumark Why should we cry: lamentations in a winter garden
On site recording of Why Should We Cry? Lamentations in a Winter Garden facilitated by artists Deborah Margo and Devora Neumark, and presented by DARE-DARE, will reveal itself through the teaching by recent immigrants of mourning hymns and/or chants in their own “mother tongues”.
These lessons were open to all.
A public performance was held on the night of December 21st – the winter solstice.
